USA Yoga Instructor Sets World Record with 7,777 Burpees in 12 Hours
Matthew Charles Morgan, a fitness enthusiast from the USA, has achieved a new world record by completing 7,777 burpees in 12 hours. At 26 years old, the yoga instructor and golf caddie, known for his dedication to discipline, averaged a burpee every five and a half seconds. This remarkable feat surpasses the previous record of 7,415 burpees set by Mohammad Adil Abdool of Mauritius.
The record attempt, held at a yoga studio in New Jersey, began at 6 a.m. and concluded at 6 p.m. Matthew organized his burpees into 39 sets with two-minute breaks between them, averaging 199 burpees per set. He experienced some fatigue, requiring a 30-minute rest after six hours and an additional hour-long break later, during which he completed 51 burpees. Despite these challenges, he finished strong with a final set of 258 burpees, breaking the previous record. For preparation, Matthew completed 52,300 burpees, driven by his desire to inspire his family and achieve personal excellence.
