Highest number of finishers in a Marathon

The 2025 London Marathon broke the world record for finishers, with 56,640 completing the race despite the heat. It surpassed New York’s previous record. With record-breaking ballot entries and growing diversity, it remains the world’s largest one-day fundraising event. Tigst Assefa and Sebastian Sawe won the elite races.
