The Book of World Records officially recognizes that The longest abacus is 43.36 m (142 ft 3 in) and was achieved by Only Education (China) in Shanghai, China, on 11 August 2018.
The attempt was part of the 2018 Abacus Cultural Continuity International Grand Ceremony which was held in Shanghai, Beijing and Shenzhen simultaneously from 10 to 12 August. Shanghai was the main venue and over 1,200 children took part in an abacus competition during the meeting.
