From April 2nd to April 7th, 2021, the Longest Poetry Show or Longest Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira set a new world record. It ran for an impressive 127 hours, 57 minutes, and 53 seconds. The event took place at Shehnai Auditorium, starting at 10 AM on April 2nd. Also The goal was to complete 121 hours, but the event surpassed this target, marking a remarkable achievement in the world of poetry.

A total of 430 poets and shayars (Urdu poets) participated , each delivering their work within a 20-minute limit. This helped ensure a smooth flow throughout the marathon event. Over two dozen hosts managed the event, ensuring everything proceeded without interruptions.

Kapilash Foundation

The Kapilash Foundation, led by its President Shipra Khare, organized this record-breaking gathering. It was not just about setting a world record, but also about honoring India’s rich literary heritage. Previously, the record for the Longest Poetry Show was set at 102 hours in Dadri in 2018. This new event broke that record and became a proud moment for all participants.

Poets from Kheri, Lucknow, Hardoi, Shahjahanpur, Pilibhit, and Uttarakhand took part in the event. Their diverse voices brought variety to the marathon, making it a true celebration of Indian literature and poetry.

By 3:51 PM on April 6th, the previous record of 102 hours was officially broken. The event continued, and by 4:50 PM, it reached 103 hours of poetry recitation. The final count of 127 hours, 57 minutes, and 53 seconds sealed its place in history also.

This achievement also stands as a tribute to the love for poetry in India and the collaborative spirit of poets from across the country. The Longest Poetry Show also will always be remembered as a key moment in Kavi Sammelan and Mushaira history.
