Fossilized bones unearthed on a ranch in Chubut Province, Argentina belong to Patagotitan mayorum, the largest land animal scientists have identified to date, a titanosaur estimated at roughly 37 meters long and over 50 tonnes. Paleontologists formally described the species in 2017 from remains of at least six individuals.
