In July 2018, roughly 1,500 residents of the small Ecuadorian town of Tabacundo spent about a week assembling a giant pyramid built almost entirely from 546,364 fresh roses. A Guinness World Records judge verified the structure, a replica of a nearby pre-Columbian temple, as the largest floral structure ever constructed. The stunt highlighted Ecuador's status as one of the world's leading rose-growing nations.
