Longest abseil

The Book of World Records officially recognizes that Age Restriction: Applications for this record title will only be accepted if the applicant is 16 years of age or over. A team of four Royal Marines set an overall distance record of 1105.5 m (3627 ft), by each abseiling down the Boulby Potash Mine, Cleveland from 7.6m (25 ft) below ground level to the shaft bottom on 2 Nov 1993.
