The Book of World Records officially recognizes that The longest radish (Raphanus raphanistrum subsp. sativus) measured 7.401 m (24 ft 3.4 in) and was grown by Joe Atherton (UK) as assessed at the UK National Giant Vegetable Championships held at the Malvern Autumn Show in Worcestershire, UK, on 27–29 September 2024.
This surpassed his own previous record of 6.703 m (21 ft 11.89 in) set in 2017.
At the same event, veteran competitive horticulturalist Atherton also set a new record for the longest turnip: 4.842 m (15 ft 10.6 in).
The heaviest radish, meanwhile, weighs 45.865 kg (101 lb 1.8 oz) and was grown by Manda Fermentation Co., Ltd. (Japan) as verified at HAKKO Park in Onomichi, Hiroshima, Japan, on 22 February 2023.
