Most Elevation Gained in a Single Tandem Bicycle Ride Across North America

Lady JB Owen and Peter Giesin achieved a remarkable endurance cycling feat by completing an extraordinary tandem bicycle journey across North America. Beginning in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and finishing in Alaska, the duo covered approximately 12,000 kilometers (7,500 miles) between June 15 and September 19, 2025. During the expedition, they recorded the highest cumulative elevation gain achieved in a single tandem ride in North America and became the only tandem cycling couple to successfully complete both the North-to-South and South-to-North routes of Baja California. Riding a single tandem bicycle throughout the journey, they demonstrated exceptional endurance, teamwork, resilience, and determination.
