Native to the rainforests of Sumatra and Borneo, the parasitic plant Rafflesia arnoldii produces the largest single flower of any plant species, with blooms that can exceed one meter across and weigh up to about 11 kilograms. It has no visible leaves, roots or stem of its own and lives mostly hidden inside its host vine until it flowers.
