Islamabad's Faisal Mosque, funded by Saudi Arabia and completed in 1986, was the largest mosque in the world until larger mosques were built in Saudi Arabia in 1993. It can still hold roughly 300,000 worshippers across its prayer halls and courtyards, ranking among the largest mosques anywhere today.
