When it opened in 2008, the 165-meter-tall Singapore Flyer became the world's tallest giant observation wheel, surpassing the London Eye and Star of Nanchang. It has since been overtaken by taller wheels including the High Roller in Las Vegas and Ain Dubai in Dubai.
