Opened in 1932, the Sydney Harbour Bridge is about 49 meters wide, carrying eight traffic lanes, two rail tracks, a footpath and a cycleway, making it the widest long-span bridge in the world. Its steel arch design has earned the structure the nickname "the Coathanger."
