Reference Record – Not Certified

This record is compiled from publicly available sources for reference. It has not been examined or certified by The Book of World Records.

Israeli engineer Simcha Blass patented a practical drip irrigation emitter in the early 1960s after noticing how a slow leak could make one tree grow unusually well. He partnered with Kibbutz Hatzerim in 1965 to found Netafim, which commercialized the technology. Drip irrigation is now used in farms worldwide to cut water use while improving crop yields.
